STV News is a Scottish regional news service produced by STV. News is the main focus at STV with two national bulletins per day plus more regional bulletins. The lunchtime news airs at 2pm for five minutes and the main evening bulletin covers all the news stories in more depth, airing at 6pm for half an hour.
The news programmes are produced centrally from studios in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen with reporters based at other newsrooms around the country and political correspondents based at Holyrood and Westminster.
As well as daily news bulletins, STV produces a current affairs programme called ‘Scotland Tonight’ four nights a week. This mainly covers political stories and is usually presented by John Mackay.
